The AYA Story
AYA, founded by Chelsy Davy, was born out of a love for Africa. Raised in Zimbabwe, Chelsy has always had a great affinity for the continent of her birth. Having travelled extensively through Africa, immersing herself in the different cultures of many countries like Mozambique, Zambia and Tanzania, she has been deeply inspired by its beauty; both in the land, and in its people.
With a vision to share this beauty with those around the world, Chelsy created AYA.AYA is an exclusive jewellery range that captures the beauty of Africa through its rare and precious gemstones and exquisite African craftmanship so that each peice of AYA jewellery embodies the unique charm of Africa.
Having studiedGemology at the Gemological Institute of America, Chelsy set out to find the finest gemstones in Africa and with a strong belief that education is key, AYA is committed to improving the quality and accessibility of schooling in the local communities.
A collection of unique 18-karat gold pieces, each one capturing the essence of Africa. With precious gemstones found far and wide, every piece tells its own story. A story of a continent as rich in culture, beauty and pride as it is in the exquisite stones it conceals.
From emeralds in Zambia, to rubies in Mozambique and tanzanites in Tanzania, every gemstone has been sourced through ethical mining. Working with Gemfields, who use sophisticated tools and techniques, we know the precious lands of Africa will be protected.
Which means that as one wears a piece of our collection, it possesses more than a radiant beauty, but has a bigger tale to tell.
